主要从事口腔内科临床、教学和研究30年。主要研究方向中西医结合口腔黏膜病、牙周病的临床诊疗和基础研究以及口腔疾病预防研究。参与大量疑难患者的诊治，在口腔黏膜病中西医结合治疗方面有较高造诣。
主持国自然基金及省、市科研项目11项，获国家级妇幼健康科学技术奖一等奖1项，省市科技进步奖12项，发表学术论文100余篇,其中SCI论文22篇，撰写专著5部，申请专利10余项。
是山东省医院优秀院长，省、市口腔重点学科带头人、青岛市拔尖人才，曾获山东省五一劳动奖章、青岛市劳动模范，青岛市工人先锋、青岛市中医药杰出贡献奖、全国实施妇女儿童发展纲要先进个人等奖项。
